Terms of Use

Terms of Use

Effective date: January 19, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Privacy Control - 2FA (the “App”) and the website privacy2fa.com (collectively, the “Service”). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Important note: The App is a security utility. You are responsible for safeguarding your device and any authentication secrets you add. A VPN can improve privacy on networks, but it cannot guarantee complete anonymity or protection against all threats.
  1. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.

  2. License and permitted use

We grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, lawful purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code except where laws explicitly allow.

  3. 2FA authenticator functionality

The App generates time‑based one‑time passwords (TOTP) based on information you provide or import. You understand that the accuracy of codes depends on device time and correct setup. You are responsible for maintaining backup methods offered by the services you protect (for example, recovery codes).

  4. VPN functionality

If the App provides a VPN feature, it is offered to help protect traffic on untrusted networks by encrypting data in transit. VPN performance may vary based on your device, network conditions, and server availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, outages, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

You agree not to use the VPN to engage in illegal activities, infringement, harassment, abuse, or to violate the rights of others. We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe the Service is being misused.

  5. Subscriptions, trials, and billing (Apple)

The App may offer subscriptions, including optional free trials. Prices and duration are shown in the App before purchase. Payments are processed by Apple and charged to your Apple ID after you confirm your purchase.

Auto‑renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

Manage / cancel: You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings. If you cancel, access remains available until the end of the current billing cycle.

Trials: If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of a trial period may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple and may be limited to one per Apple ID.

  6. Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple’s policies. We do not control Apple’s refund decisions. For help requesting a refund, please use Apple’s official purchase support flow.

    Reserved right (refund consumption verification):
If we receive a refund request for an in-app purchase from an end user, we reserve the right to provide Apple with information regarding the user's in-app purchase consumption. This includes the following data: app usage time, anonymous account identifier, total amount spent, and total amount refunded.

This information, when provided, is shared only for the purpose of assisting Apple in evaluating a refund request. We do not sell this information, and we do not use it to advertise to you. Where feasible, the information is provided in a minimized, non‑identifying or pseudonymous form (for example, an anonymous account identifier rather than your name).

  7. User content and feedback

The Service may allow you to send feedback to support. You grant us permission to use feedback to improve the Service without compensation, while keeping it non‑confidential. Please do not include sensitive secrets (such as 2FA shared secrets) in messages.

  8. Prohibited activities

    You agree not to:

    • Use the Service for unlawful purposes or to violate any applicable laws or regulations.
    • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks (including hacking, scraping, or abusing APIs).
    • Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities of the Service or bypass security measures.
    • Use the Service to distribute malware, phishing content, or to conduct fraud.
    • Misrepresent your identity when contacting support or submitting reports.
  9. Intellectual property

The Service, including the App, website, branding, and all related content (except third‑party trademarks referenced for compatibility) is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. No rights are granted to you except those expressly stated in these Terms.

  10. Third‑party services

The Service may interact with third‑party services that you choose to protect using 2FA or that are necessary to distribute the App (such as Apple’s App Store). Your use of third‑party services is governed by their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third‑party services.

  11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or that it will prevent all security incidents. Security is a shared responsibility: device security, provider security, and user practices all matter.

  12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from or related to your use of the Service.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for all claims will be limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

  13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the App. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.

  14. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. By using the Service, you also agree to our Privacy Policy. You can read it at privacy2fa.com/policypage.html.

  15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements, or operational practices. The “Effective date” at the top indicates the latest version. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
